The Holocaust Educators Network 2016 - Registration Deadline
Applications for the 2016 Holocaust Educators Network Summer Seminar, hosted by the Memorial Library in New York, are due March 1, 2016. An Echoes and Reflections Signature Program, the Holocaust Educators Network, will be held June 18 – 30, 2016 and is designed for educators with several years of experience in the classroom and prior experience teaching about the Holocaust.
The Memorial Library Summer Seminar is an intensive 12-day professional development experience in which educators are encouraged to think creatively and collaboratively about how they teach about the Holocaust and other genocides. Participants become adept at dealing with difficult material, and discover how writing, dialogue and inquiry can help motivate students towards social action.
The 2016 summer seminar will include a day at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, workshops with scholars, artists, and Holocaust education experts, and guest speakers that include Holocaust survivor Irving Roth, and Mehnaz Afridi, an expert on Christian, Jewish, and Muslim dialogue.
Visit the Memorial Library website for more information on the application process and register now for this meaningful professional development opportunity. Applications are due March 1, 2016 and a letter of reference is due by March 15, 2016.
