Southern California Educators Learn About Teaching the Holocaust

More than 50 educators from the Los Angeles area gathered at the University of Southern California (USC) this week as part of the Anti-Defamation League Pacific Southwest Region’s Holocaust Education Institute. Spanning most of the school year, the Institute is a two-part professional development program that introduces educators to Echoes and Reflections and the USC Shoah Foundation’s educational website, IWitness. The training also utilizes museum-based instruction at the Museum of Tolerance and the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, provides curriculum and pedagogical training and a team of dynamic presenters who introduce lessons in critical thinking.
